March 16, 2025 by
Royal Times

My name is Marwa. I graduated from
the Faculty of Nursing, Cairo University
in 2006 and then joined the hospitals of
the Egyptian Ministry of Health, and in
2014 I joined the Royal American School
Clinic as a school nurse. My role is to
ensure the health and safety of our
students by
providing first
aid, managing
chronic
diseases,
promoting
healthy
habits, and
collaborating
with parents and
staff to create a
safe and supportive environment.
I am delighted to be part of this school
community, and I look forward to working
with all of you to keep our students healthy
and ready to learn.

Hey Ms. Marwa!! How are you this morning?

Hello girls, I'm doing well.

That's very good to hear! We came here in order to interview you for our school magazine and would love to hear more about your story.

Oh! That's very interesting, you may go ahead with your questions.

Thank you, Let's start off with what made you want to be part of this school?

I joined this school because of its strong commitment to supporting students academically and emotionally. As a nurse, I wanted to contribute to a safe and healthy environment where students can grow and thrive.

What a nice reputation about our school. How do you feel about your role in it?

I’m proud to be a school nurse. My role is essential in helping students stay healthy, feel supported, and succeed. Whether I’m giving care or teaching healthy habits, I know my work matters.

Yes i do agree, have you ever faced a stressful emergency?

Yes, I’ve dealt with serious situations like asthma attacks or allergic reactions. These moments can be stressful, but my training helps me stay calm, act quickly, and provide the best care possible.

Well we're glad you're our nurse to help in these situations, but let me ask, what makes you happy about your job?

Seeing a student feel better and return to class ready to learn makes me feel fulfilled. I enjoy being part of their journey and helping them both physically and emotionally.

That's very nice to hear. But I am very curious, if you weren’t a nurse, what would you be?

I would likely work in child psychology or therapy. I enjoy helping children understand their feelings and solve problems, so a role in mental health would still let me support them.

That's very thoughtful of you and i do agree, helping children makes you feel better. Do you find nursing stressful?

It can be challenging, especially
when quick decisions are needed.
But the reward of helping students
outweighs the stress. Staying
organized and focused helps me
manage it well.

What motivated you to become a
school nurse?

I’ve
always
been
passionate
about

healthcare
and working
with children.

Being a school nurse

allows me to support

both their physical and

emotional well-being.

Finally, Are you proud of what you are today?

Yes, absolutely. I’m proud to be a school nurse and to play a meaningful role in students’ health and success.

Lovely, I appretiate you taking part of your time to interview you. We wish you best of luck with nursing!

No worries girls, I'm glad you interviewed me.
